Microfluidics-based liquid biopsy is an emerging field which leverages microfluidic techniques to develop noninvasive strategies for diagnosis and monitor of diseases. Microfluidics with the features of miniaturization, integration, automation, and high-throughput provides unprecedented opportunities to detect and analyze circulating targets in body fluids, including cells, exosomes, platelets, nucleic acids, etc. This special topic session will explore the hydrodynamic effect and physical field manipulation in microchannels for label-free isolation of circulating targets, and explore microstructure design and nanointerface engineering to improve the performance of detection and analysis.
